Eugene A. Hall
Chief Executive Officer

Eugene Hall has been Chief Executive Officer and a director at Gartner since August 2004. Prior to joining Gartner, Eugene was a senior executive at Automatic Data Processing (ADP), a Fortune 500 global technology and service company, serving most recently as President, Employers Services Major Accounts Division, a provider of human resources and payroll services. Prior to joining ADP in 1998, Eugene spent 16 years at McKinsey & Company, most recently as a director.

Craig Safian
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Craig Safian joined Gartner in 2002. He has held numerous leadership positions in the company, including Group Vice President of Global Finance Strategy & Corporate Development, Group Vice President of Strategy, and Managing Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis. Prior to Gartner, he held finance positions at Headstrong (now part of Genpact) and Bristol-Myers Squibb, and was an accountant for Friedman, LLP.

Craig holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He also achieved CPA licensure in the state of New York.

Ken Allard
Executive Vice President, Digital Markets

Ken Allard joined Gartner in 2017 following the acquisition of L2, where he was CEO. Previously, Ken was a Managing Director at Huge and held senior leadership positions at research and consulting companies including Edgewater, Jupiter Media Metrix and Gartner, where he started his career.

Ken holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.

Joe Beck
Executive Vice President, Global Technology Sales

Joe Beck joined Gartner in 1997 as a sales executive. Most recently, he was the leader of the Americas End User Sales organization. Prior to this role, he held positions of increasing seniority within sales. Before joining Gartner, Joe spent six years in sales at McGraw-Hill/Datapro Information Services.

Joe holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton.

Alwyn Dawkins
Executive Vice President, Global Business Sales

Alwyn Dawkins joined Gartner in 2002. Alwyn has held positions of increasing seniority in Sales and Conferences, culminating in his most recent role as Executive Vice President, Global Business Sales. Prior to Gartner, Alwyn spent 10 years at Richmond Events, culminating in his role as Executive Vice President responsible for its North American business. Alwyn began his events career at Trinity Publishing and Exhibitions, which was later acquired by DMG, Daily Mail Group. 

Alwyn holds a Bachelor of Science in applied economics from the University of London.

Yvonne Genovese
Executive Vice President, Global Product Management

Yvonne Genovese joined Gartner in 1999 as a senior research analyst. Yvonne subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility in Research & Advisory culminating in her most recent role leading the Marketing Research & Advisory practice. Prior to Gartner, Yvonne started her career at IBM and held senior roles in marketing and product management at Prism Systems, Marcam and Mapics.

Yvonne holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Scott Hensel
Executive Vice President, Global Services & Delivery

Scott Hensel joined Gartner in 2017 as Executive Vice President, Consulting. Prior to Gartner, Scott served as President, Terex Services, Parts & Customer Solutions, at Terex Corporation. Previously, Scott spent 14 years at McKinsey & Company where he was a partner assisting clients in the IT and advanced industries sectors.

Scott holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Claire Herkes
Executive Vice President, Conferences

Claire Herkes joined Gartner in 2005. She has held various roles of increasing responsibility in Conferences culminating in her current position of Executive Vice President, Conferences. Prior to Gartner, Claire held the position of Senior Director at George P. Johnson. Claire began her career in conferences at Yankee Group. 

Claire holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southampton.

Akhil Jain
Executive Vice President, Consulting

Akhil Jain joined Gartner in 2021. Prior to Gartner, Akhil was Senior Vice President at State Street Corporation, a global financial services and bank holding company. There he held multiple leadership roles with responsibility for strategy, growth, and technology and operational improvement programs. Prior to State Street, he spent 10 years at McKinsey & Company, most recently as a partner in their Chicago and Dubai offices.

Akhil holds an M.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B-Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Thomas Kim
Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Thomas Kim joined Gartner in 2023 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. Prior to Gartner, Thomas served as Chief Legal Officer & Company Secretary at Thomson Reuters. Thomas previously held positions of increasing responsibility in legal, compliance, go-to-market and operations at Thomson Reuters. Prior to Thomson Reuters, Thomas was a litigator in private practice in San Francisco, California.

Thomas holds undergraduate and law degrees from Stanford University.

Robin Kranich
Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer

Robin Kranich joined Gartner in 1994 and has held a variety of sales, operational and general manager roles. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of End User Programs and Senior Vice President of Gartner Executive Programs. Earlier in her career at Gartner, Robin served as Vice President and Chief of Staff to the President. Prior to joining Gartner, Robin worked in the technology group at Marriott International.

Robin holds a bachelor’s degree from American University.

Altaf Rupani joined Gartner in 2023 as Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining Gartner, Altaf was Senior Vice President, Head of Digital, Emerging Technologies and Guardian India for Guardian Life. Prior to joining Guardian Life, Altaf held roles of increasing seniority at NBCUniversal Media and Dow Jones.

Altaf holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Bharati Vidyapeeth and the University of Mumbai.

Executive Vice President, Research & Advisory

Val Sribar joined Gartner in 2005 with the acquisition of Meta Group, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in research. Most recently, Val held the position of Senior Vice President of the CIO and Industries Research Group. Prior to this role, Val held senior leadership roles in Research & Advisory, including the creation of the company’s Software Research Group.

Jim Wartinbee
Senior Vice President, Global Sales Strategy & Operations

Jim Wartinbee joined Gartner in 2011 as Group Vice President, People Analytics. Jim subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility in the HR and Finance functions, including leadership of Global Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning. Prior to Gartner, Jim was a management consultant, specializing in sales strategy and execution at both McKinsey & Company and ZS Associates.

Jim holds a B.S.E. in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
